Amelia Island, Florida | Romantic Relaxing Babymoon

We did the second half of our babymoon in Amelia Island, Florida. The island is right on the Georgie/Florida line and is home to beautiful resorts.

We stayed at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort and loved it. It has a nice private beach with comfy chairs and shade umbrellas. It also has huge pools and several hot tubs. We even did the breakfast buffet at the Sunrise Cafe which we would highly recommend.

We also visited the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island one evening and thought it was lovely as well. It doesn’t have quite as big of pools, but it is very glamorous and charming. We went to dinner at its restaurant Coast, which was delicious. Its restaurant Salt is probably the most famous, but it was closed while we were there.

Downtown Fernandina Beach is just about a 20-minute drive from the resorts, and it is definitely worth a visit. The town has great restaurants and high-end shops and boutiques. While we were visiting, there happened to be a shrimp festival, which was pretty fun.

Fort Clinch State Park is not far from downtown and is also worth visiting. We stopped and saw the historic Fort Clinch and were impressed by the large cannons pointed across the St. Mary’s River into Georgia.

Watch my vlog of our trip below! I give a little tour of both resorts in the video.
