I’ve been looking to add some spring and summer touches to my home now that it is finally starting to warm up outside. What better way to embrace the wonderful new weather, than changing up your home decor a bit? I’ve done some digging to see what’s in this season and also came up with a few ideas of my own.
Indoor Plants
Indoor plants have a way of lifting our moods by bringing the beauty of nature inside. Most indoor plants are relatively low maintenance. Succulents like aloe are very in style this year and only require watering about every 3 weeks. Plants like pothos purify your air and leave your home smelling fresh. An indoor palm tree is a great option for a larger statement plant that requires little maintenance and can bring a vacation home vibe to a room.
Lavender Accents
Lavender decor is very popular this year, and it also happens to be one of my favorite colors. It is light, cheery, and perfect for the warmer seasons. A lavender throw pillow, picture frame, or ceramic are all great ways to incorporate the color. Many pastels, whites, and creams compliment lavender very well so feel free to mix and match.
A Bright Rug
A great rug can completely change the vibe of a room. Switching out your dark winter rug for something bright and fun for the warmer months is a great way to embrace the seasons. If you do switch out your rug, you’ll likely have to change around some of your room accents as well to coordinate with the new look.
A Statement Piece
A nice statement piece can transform a room or even your home. Whether it is an accent chair or a piece of art, one item has the ability to dramatically change your vibe. For the spring and summer months, pastels or other light or bright colors can take your room from dark and gloomy to a light and airy.
