Engaged In 48 Hours By Helzberg Diamonds | Madison Burke and Kyle Loethen

My sweet fiancé was looking for engagement rings at a Helzberg Diamonds in Kansas City when he was presented with a “proposal” by staff. He was told if he proposed within 48 hours, he would be given a ring for free. To top that off, they wanted to help him plan the engagement and FILM IT for a web video.

I can only imagine what was running through his head. We could use that money towards a house! We could use that money towards the wedding!

He agreed, and cameras captured him meeting with a “proposal planner,” getting new suit, picking out a bouquet of flowers to present to me,  and even choosing a car to take us away after the event.

Kyle called me and asked if I could make it to Kansas City to be in some sort of fun Kansas City commercial with him. Kyle has done all sorts of acting and modeling in his past, so I figured it was just another one of those jobs. I thought it sounded like fun, so I agreed and took an afternoon off of work.

When I arrived in Kansas City, everyone told me the job was a Kansas City commercial that they wanted real couples for, and it was going to be shot in the Kauffman Center. At the theater, producers separated Kyle from me, and I was taken to my own dressing room to wait. I was starting to get confused about what we were supposed to be doing during the shoot when the producers came back and walked me to a large door.

I told them for probably the tenth time that I hadn’t seen any sort of script and didn’t know what I was supposed to be doing in the commercial. A producer just gave me a funny look and told me to walk to Kyle after he opened the door.

I walked through the door, and suddenly I was on the beautiful Helzberg stage. The stage was covered with candles and a live band was playing in the corner. Kyle was standing in the middle of the stage looking more handsome than ever in a dashing suit.

Confused, I walked towards him and stared at him. He then said the cutest, sweetest, engagement speech and got down on one knee. He pulled out the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen and asked me to marry him.

Of course, I said yes, and the band began playing our favorite song, Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran. We danced, and I can’t really explain what was going through my head during the whole thing. I just couldn’t believe it was happening. It was like I was in a dream.

After dancing, we got in a 1954 Bentley that was outside waiting for us, and a driver took us to dinner where we started calling our family and friends with the exciting news.

Thank you, Helzberg, for the beautiful ring and proposal! It was a dream come true for both of us. We can’t wait to see what is next in our life together!
