I had such a great visit to Charleston, South Carolina. It is a beautiful historic city filled with lots to do. I was there for my cousin’s wedding, and we made a family vacation out of it. Here are some of the highlights of my trip.
Skyline Catamaran Ride
We took a Palmetto Breeze Catamaran ride along the Charleston skyline. It was so relaxing and fun. It took us to see lots of historic sites, as well as some beautiful homes.
Walking History Tour
We took the Charleston In A Nutshell walking history tour and loved it! Our guide was very knowledgeable and told us about the city’s history starting with the very first British settlers. He took us to many of the famous spots, and we were able to get a lot in during the two-hour tour.
Carriage Ride
Everyone said doing this was a must, and now I totally agree! We took a Palmetto Carriage Works ride through downtown Charleston and were able to see even more historic sites. The carriage took us through some of the oldest neighborhoods in the city.
Magnolia Plantation
The wedding was at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, and it absolutely took my breath away. The gardens and scenery seemed like they should be out of a fairytale. It made for a very lovely evening.
Folly Beach
We actually stayed in Folly Beach and spent one day just enjoying the beach and little town. The beach is wonderful, and the town has a great vacation town vibe.
Magnolia’s
And last, but not least, my favorite restaurant that I went to in Charleston was Magnolia’s. It is in the French Quarter and is an absolutely charming restaurant. It even has a gluten-free menu!
