Hey, we totally get it; waking up an hour earlier to get everything sorted out on a workday (nail down your morning beauty routine, have coffee in peace, catch up on the news, prepare your lunch for the day, do the hair, check if the blouse is ironed, etc.) or getting out of your pajamas on a weekend can sometimes be the hardest thing in life! But, there’s really almost nothing as powerful as looking yourself in the mirror and realizing you look good! And that’s not all – you do not only look stunning, but you are healthy (both mentally and physically), and feel phenomenal – and what more is a girl to ask for in life, right? Now, to get to that point, diligence, discipline and a lot of self-motivation are key along with the right advice to stick to.
For all of you beauties who are looking to upgrade or switch up your current beauty routine, we’re talking beauty tips, tricks and little secrets that will turn your life around.
Go natural on your face exfoliation
Although purchased face scrubs do have a number of benefits, we like switching things up from time to time by including a natural face exfoliant into our beauty routine. One of the best ways to remove dead skin cells from your face and give your appearance a healthy glow is to use sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and milk to create a face scrub that’s to be applied no more than three times a week. The process is as follows: take a spoonful of baking soda and add milk to create a paste. Rub the paste onto your face in circular motions to stimulate blood flow and thoroughly clean your face. Rub all around, except the eyes. Leave the paste to sit on the face for about 10 minutes, and rinse. Expect the face to be a bit red and irritated after the process, and leave it be until you see the glands secrete sebum (that oily, waxy substance); then, apply your regular crème to the face to calm it.
Stick to high-quality
It’s true: everything’s expensive, we’ve got nothing to wear and it’s snowing in July. Ha. While being smart with your budget is an absolutely wonderful quality to have (especially, in these times), sometimes you’ve got to love yourself enough to spend an extra buck on quality that will encourage a number of benefits for your health and overall well-being. To nurture your body inside out, stick to the healthy, quality nutrition and buy beauty products you know won’t leave you with allergies, irritation, itching or any other potential problem. This is why we always choose trusted brands and their products when we want our skin to be healthy and beautiful. For example, quality concealer can change your whole look and make you look fresh and well rested.
Massage coconut oil into the roots
The plant you’d entrust your life to (yes, coconut) is known to be one of the most beneficial ingredients to use on the skin and hair, with beauty and hair experts continually coming up with new ways to use coconut to our advantage. Although you may have been using coconut oil to mend your split ends, this time around we suggest using it to prevent seborrheic dermatitis and deal with dandruff in the cold winter days. How? By rubbing coconut oil into the roots! When the skin gets flaky, rub coconut oil into the roots of your hair gently and leave it for about two hours before you wash the hair. You can use the oil on the brows too if they get flaky (which they usually do).
Try lemon water before bed
A tall glass of warm water with lemon in the morning is great but have you tried the same routine before bed? Turns out, a change in “lemon strategy” will improve your digestion and burn fat, and clear out your skin of potential pimples and blemishes. The reversed “lemon strategy” works wonderfully for those who have a sensitive stomach and can’t take their lemon in the morning.
Good luck with your new routines, beautiful! We are cheering you on!
