Our beautiful baby girl came into the world Monday, August 26 at 9:36 AM. I had gone in the evening before for an induction, but when we got there, we found that I was already having contractions 5 minutes apart, and so a full induction wouldn’t be necessary. Good timing, baby girl!
The labor and birth were hard with my epidural not working well, but fortunately, it was not too long and she came 16 hours after we had checked into the hospital. She hardly cried after she was born and just looked around at everything that was going on. She weighed 6lbs 13oz and was 20.5 in long.
Reese has a sweet temperament and loves to cuddle. She came out of the womb able to roll on her side, and the pediatrician said that she is very strong when examining her. We did have a little Jaundice scare with her early blood tests showing high levels, but fortunately, they have gone down and baby girl is healthy as can be.
Breastfeeding is going great, and it is something that mommy and baby really enjoy. The second day in the hospital was the hardest with my milk not in yet and her starting to get hungry, but my mom and lactation consultants were so helpful. We just about had it down the next day!
We love our little Reese so much and are so excited for our life with her. Be sure to watch my birth vlog here:
